Green and Polygonal Interior Design of Kakushin Office in Tokyo

November 13, 2025

In their latest project, Moriyuki Ochiai Architects have reimagined the interior of the Kakushin Office in Tokyo with a creative focus on the relationship between nature and the workspace. Using polygonal cutouts and green surfaces, the project creates a dynamic, vibrant, and lively environment where geometry and color come together to deliver a unique spatial experience.

The design of this space is based on the concept of ‘natural dynamism.’ Inspired by leaves and layers of nature, the designers created a polygonal ceiling with a green gradient ranging from dark to light, which changes throughout the day with the shifting light, adding a lively and dynamic effect. Walls and furniture are also covered with textured green materials, maintaining a continuous connection between the users and nature throughout the space.

The goal of this design was to create a space that goes beyond mere office functionality, conveying a sense of freshness, calm, and inspiration to employees. The Moriyuki Ochiai team believes that interior design should impact the mind and emotions, turning the space into a platform for idea generation and creativity. As a result, color, form, and light in this project are not merely decorative elements but tools to enhance well-being and redefine the experience of being in the workspace.

In this project, geometric forms and sharp lines are balanced with soft, natural colors to create a visually harmonious environment. Intelligent lighting casts fluid shadows across the panels, adding a sense of visual rhythm to the space. This combination of form and color makes the Kakushin Office not only a workplace but also an inspiring environment and a symbol of the company’s brand identity.

The Kakushin Office project is a notable example of a new trend in Japanese office interior design, one that seeks to balance functionality, aesthetics, and a connection to nature. The space demonstrates how architecture can transform the everyday work experience, turning it from monotony into moments of calm, focus, and creativity.
